A Warren chef hopes her potato salad takes her all the way to Las Vegas.

Dawn Moore is a finalist in the Reser's America's Best Potato Salad Challenge. She has entered a Greek Tzatziki Potato Salad.

Of 606 entries received, Moore said she is among the 10 finalists. Judges for the contest prepared their 30 favorite recipes and selected the top 10.

If she makes it in the top five, Moore said she will advance to the World Food Championships in Las Vegas to compete for $10,000. To determine those five, she said there will be a combination of scores based on the original points awarded by the judges and the number of consumer votes the recipes receive through Facebook.

"I typically enter several recipe contests a month, and when I came across this one for 'America's Best Potato Salad,' I knew I had a great recipe that would be perfect for it!" Moore said.

In addition, Moore said the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas and compete for $10,000 also made her want to participate.

Several months ago, Moore won a prize for a similar recipe. That was the Greek pasta salad, and she loved the ingredients so much she wanted to try them in a potato salad.

"The recipes are all very different, and that's exactly what the judges were looking for - a new, creative take on the classic potato salad," Moore said.

In the top 10, Moore said she is among five who have competed against each other in several other contests. Based on familiarity, she knows she has tough competition and they're trying to stay in the top five so can make it to Las Vegas together.

As of Wednesday, Moore said she is in the top five but needs to stay there until Aug. 31. After the grand prize of $10,000, second place will receive $3,000, third place will win $1,000, fourth place will get $500, fifth place will take $300 and sixth place will receive $200.

There is no registration required for the Facebook voting, Moore said, and it can be found at . Once the page appears, you can click "vote with Facebook" next to the recipe.

If the vote processes correctly, the "vote with Facebook" button disappears and it shows a percentage of votes. For first time voting, she said there may be an app request.

People can vote once per day now through August 31.
