Baseball news

Sammy Sherrard, a sophomore at Warren Area High School, was selected to train and compete for the Under Armour baseball program this past July in Cape Cod. Sherrard attended the week-long event in July, providing him the opportunity to train with the experienced staff of professional scouts, former professional players and college coaches.

Players, including Sherrard, were able to experience what it takes to play at the highest level of collegiate baseball and participate in a number of games played during the week. Sherrard worked one-on-one with coaches and learned new techniques in conditioning, speed, arm strength and weight training. Sherrard has been asked to continue this program this fall in winter in places such as Rochester, N.Y., Baltimore, Md. and Florida.
