The following is a list of upcoming local entertainment events. The Times Observer welcomes additions to the list that are of community interest. Club meetings and closed gatherings are not included. To add an event, call features editor Diana Paddock in the newsroom at 723-8200 by noon Monday.

Aug. 16-17: "Scrubs Sale" by Erie Uniforms, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. each day in the outpatient lobby of Warren General Hospital, sponsored by the WGH Auxiliary.

Aug. 17: Doctor Awkward (rock), Music in the Park, Soldiers & Sailors Park, Hickory St. at Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren, sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank, 8-10 p.m., weather permitting.

Aug. 17-19: Cornfest sponsored by Revitalization of Youngsville (ROY), Youngsville.

Aug. 17-18: At Chapman State Park: hike Adams Run Trail, meet at restroom at sled riding hill, 6 p.m. Friday; movie night, "Planet Earth, 'Forests'," amphitheater, 9 p.m. Friday; program on wild mushrooms by Karen Croyle, amphitheater, 3 p.m. Saturday; movie night, "Fungi," meet Pavilion 4, 8 p.m. Saturday (723-0250, ChapmanEE@pa.gov).

Aug. 21-23: DiscoverE Learning Series, Penn's Adventure, Chapman State Park, ages 9-12, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (723-0250 to register).

Aug. 21-25: Back-to-School Sale at the Book Cellar, Warren Public Library, everything half-price, regular hours.

Aug. 23: Wilder Museum chicken barbecue and local musicians, 5 to 8 p.m., Wilder Museum of Warren County History (presale dinners, $8, $10 at the door). Free admittance to the museum. Chinese and silent auctions, 51 Erie Ave., Irvine.

Aug. 23, 24, 27: Warren County School District, professional development day for teachers, no school for students.

Aug. 24: West of the Mark (country), Music in the Park, Soldiers & Sailors Park, Hickory St. at Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren, sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank, 8-10 p.m., weather permitting.

Aug. 24-25: At Chapman State Park: "The Incredible Journey" of the water molecule, beach concession stand, 6 p.m. Friday; sunset and moonlight paddle, mooring area (registration required, 723-0250 by Aug. 23), 8:30 p.m. Friday; "Sticks & Things," on the world of bugs, meet beach concession stand, 4 p.m. Saturday (723-0250, ChapmanEE@pa.gov).

Aug. 25: Chandlers Valley Outdoor Festival at the ball field.

Aug. 28: Warren County School District, first day for students.

Aug. 31: At Chapman State Park: "Salamander Safari," meet parking lot 1, 6 p.m.; movie night "Season of the Bear Volume 3," amphitheater, 9 p.m. (723-0250, ChapmanEE@pa.gov).
