Joan E. Kerekanich, 80, of 5 Edgewood Drive Youngsville, Pa., passed away Monday, August 13th, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Joan was born in DuBois, Pa. on January 15, 1932, a daughter of the late Evelyn (Henry) and Earl Walters. She was retired from Blair Corp. She enjoyed garden-ing, crafts, sewing, and crossword puzzles. She was a graduate of Mt. Jewett High School. She was the widow of Charles Kerekan-ich whom she married on July 14, 1951. Charles pre-ceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by her children: a daughter Bar-bara (James) Hagg, of Sugar Grove, Pa; Two sons, David (Diane) Kerekanich, of Warren, Pa; and Roy Kerekanich, of Pittsburgh, Pa; a sister Ruth Holmes, of Ohio; a brother Dale Walters, of Germany. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Kerekanich, Jr., in 1997 and a daughter, Patricia Hotchkiss in 2005.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednes-day, August 15th at McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremations Services, Inc. 54 West Main St. in Youngsville where friends will be received from 9-11a.m.
