Bottom 15%

August 9, 2012
The Times Observer

Many years ago, I brought home a report card that showed I (not the School) was a low achiever.

My father "discussed" the situation with me. He informed me that my scores were not acceptable and would improve--"or else".

The next report card showed considerable improvement. Translating that to PSSA tests surely means higher achievement for a school.

My father created a magic motivation for which he had a certain knack.

The"or else" wasn't necessary and neither was the expense of scholarships to attend different schools.
