JOHN JOHNSON

John Albin Johnson Jr., 80, of East Woodcrest Drive, Warren, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, Au-gust 8, 2012 at Warren General Hospital.

Mr. Johnson was born February 23, 1932, in Brad-ford, Pa., the son of the late John and Mae Pratt John-son, Sr. He was a 1952 gra-duate of Bradford High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. Mr. Johnson was employed for over thirty years as a carpenter at Struthers Wells, from which he retired. He was well known around town for cut-ting paper stars. He was very active at the former Bethlehem Covenant Church. He was currently attending Pleasant Com-munity Church, where he participated in the Men's Breakfast Group, was a trustee and also served as a Deacon. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Mae Johnson, whom he married on July 24, 1954; his children, Linda Feather, and husband, Bruce, Bear Lake, Pa., Jeffrey Johnson, Warren, Pa., Karen Knight-Griffith, and hus-band, Jeff, Pleasantville, Pa., John Johnson, and wife, Leslie, Warren, Pa. and Cheryl Vogel, and hus-band, Paul, Lake Villa, IL; 2 sisters, Ruth Morris, Cor-tez, CO and Anna Drum, Hendersonville, NC; 9 grandchildren, Marie, Christina, Paul, McCall, Brian, Scott, Justin, Timothy and Peter; 1 great-grandchild, Stephen; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Mae Bolin and Ellen Mels-ness; a brother, Leroy John-son; and two daughters-in-law, Monica and Michelle Johnson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Fun-eral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, August 10, from, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Disabled American Veteran Service will be held at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Drive, Warren, Pa., on Sa-turday, August 11, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Michael Poindexter, pastor, officiat-ing.

Burial will be in Oak-land Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365, or the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #75.
