RICHARD CARLSON

Richard Stanley "Dick" Carlson, 71, of Cobham Park Road, Warren, Pa., passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Dick was born August 23, 1940, in Ludlow, Pa., the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Pratt Carlson. He was a graduate of Kane High School, class of 1957. After graduation, Dick enlisted in the US Air Force for four years and spent 1 year in Spain. He was employed by PennDOT in various positions for 29 years from which he retired in 1995. Dick was very active in the Glade Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a past Fire Police Cap-tain and past President. He was also Past Master and member of Northstar Lodge #241 Masonic Temple. Dick enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Carlson, whom he married in 1962; his daughter, Cindy Carlson Shelow, and husband, Stephen, State College, Pa.; three sons, Timothy Carlson, Terry Carlson, and wife, Amy, all of Warren, Pa., and Chris Carlson, and wife, Sara, Fayetteville, NC; his broth-er, Robert Carlson, Warren, Pa., sister, Dr. Nancy Carlson, Portland, Me., , Janice Adams and husband, Jack, Canandaigua, NY; 8 grandchildren, Jacob, Joey, Zachary, Emily, Savanna, Alex, Janet, Shane, and Abigail.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Tues-day, August 7, from, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Covenant United Methodist Church, 1624 Penna. Ave. E., on Wednesday, August 8, with Rev. John Gerber and Rev. Seth McClymonds, co-officiating.

Burial will be on the family farm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glade Volunteer Fire Department, 14 Hohman Road, Warren, Pa. 16365; Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, Pa. 16365; or Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, Pa. 16505.
