August is here and that means fair time. Senior day at the fair is Aug. 8, and our bus will be running. Call to reserve your seat.

Stop in and see our new pool table and join in the fun new players are always welcome.

Decorating will begin soon for the Hawaiian luau taking place on Aug. 20. This will be bring a dish buffet and all are welcome.

AARP driver safety refresher course will be held on August 16 from 5:30-9:30 pm. People that have been involved in education(teachers,bus drivers,aides) can attend for only $5 or if you are a member of AARP the price is $12. Call early to sign up as class numbers are limited.

A meet and greet pre cruise will be held at the center on Aug. 18 from 10-12.

If you have spare time and want to have fun the Kitchen Band is looking for new members. No musical talent is required just people wanting to have fun and bring some sunshine into other people's lives.

Rod and Gun will be the place for our last picnic on Aug. 30. Hot dogs, corn on the cob, calico beans, watermelon and cupcakes are all included as well as a lively game of rip-off.

This is Warren County Fair week at the fairgrounds in Pittsfield. Senior Day at the fair, offering special discounts, is Wednesday, Aug. 8. Sign up at 723-3237 and board the TAWC bus at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at ACC to enjoy a delightful day browsing exhibits and sampling a variety of delicious foods. Who could ask for more!

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. M-F with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers Aug. 6-10: pizza Monday, chicken salad plate Tuesday, soup and sandwich Wednesday, spaghetti Thursday and chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations.
