AOC to picnic
On Sunday, Aug. 5, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hold a picnic at Chapman State Park where members can kayak or canoe on Chapman Lake, or hike the park trails. MS support offered
The Warren Multiple Sclerosis Support group will meet at 6 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Warren Public Library, third floor Slater Room. Mary Lee Jackson from the Erie Office of the National MS Society, guest speaker, will explain how the programs and services offered from the society benefit persons with MS. Mary Lee will also answer questions related to programs and services at the meeting. Anyone affected by MS, their family, friends and anyone interested in learning more about Multiple Sclerosis are invited to attend. There in not a charge for anyone to attend. The library is handicapped accessible from the rear of the building by parking in the midtown lot, and there is an elevator to the third floor. Parking passes are available at the meeting for the midtown so there is not a fee for parking. Coats for Kids
The Warren and Youngsville Knights of Columbus have begun a fund raising campaign for the local Coats for Kids program and will be contacting businesses for donations. Donations also can be made to "Knights of Columbus" and mailed to: Knights of Columbus, 1768 Market St., Warren, PA 16365. Donations will be accepted until Oct. 1.
Class to lunch
Warren High School Class of 1940 will have lunch at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Bob Evans, North Warren.
Youngsville High School Class of 1959 will have an informal gathering at Denny and Becky Cedrone's, Ludwick Rd., Sugar Grove, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. Participants should take a dish to share, lawn chairs and hot dogs. Coffee, soda and table service will be provided.
The 17th Annual Pleasant Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, with sales throughout the township from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An open house will be held at Pleasant Fire Hall, and a chicken barbecue will be served there from 11 a.m. until sold out.
Music in the Park
"Modified Noun" (original and rock music) will be featured at Music in the Park, Soldiers & Sailors Park, Hickory St. at Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren, from 8 to 10 p.m., weather permitting, Friday, Aug. 3. The series is sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank.
