Trap shoot
The Randy Wolfe Memorial Trap Shoot, benefitting the Sheffield Youth Trap Team, will be held Saturday, August 11, at the Sheffield Rod & Gun Club. The event will consist of 25 wobble and 25 handicap targets. Registration will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the cost is $20 per person. Christine Welsh
Christine Anderson Welsh, formerly of Warren and her husband Christopher Welsh, formerly of Sheffield, competed in the Lake Placid Ironman competition on Sunday, July 22. This was Christopher's second full Ironman and each had completed half-Ironman events in the past. The event consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run. The couple plans to compete in next weekend's Kinzua Country Tango Adventure Race alongside Christopher's brother. Christopher has taken first place in the solo division of the Tango twice in the past.
Golf results
Hallie Dubia won the 2012 Ladies Steeplechase title Sunday at Conewango Valley Country Club, defeating runner-up Mary Conarro on the final hole of the event. Lana Creal was third, Marlene Sandberg was fourth and Gerry Africa and Sonia Probst shared fifth. This was Dubia's second win in the event which features the best ladies golfers at CVCC in a single hole elimination format.

The team of Tyler Martin, Steve Neilans and Ed Kavanaugh captured first place in a Breakfast Glo 3 balls of 4 Tournament held Sunday at Conewango Valley Country Club with a score of 201. Dave Walde, Steve Puleo, Drew Young and Paul Fratangelo were second with a score of 205, Jerry Bancroft, Gary Evans, Scott Neilans and Don Fissel were third with a 207 and Maurice Bennett, Vince Messina, Dave See and John Jarzab Jr. were fourth with a 209.
The team of Hallie Dubia, Joyce Puleo, Cathy Zawacki and Nancy Shattuck won the women's net division of the event with a score of 229.
