Animal cruelty cases handled in county court

Two cruelty to animals cases were recently handled in court.

Andrew Lee Farnham of Pleasant Valley Trailer Park in Pittsfield pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals and was sentenced on July 5. Farnham pleaded guilty to neutering the family cat which resulted in its death.

Paul Morton Jr., Scrambling Rd., Columbus, was found guilty of four counts of cruelty to animals on July 19 before District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth in Youngsville. Three dogs were found neglected, and were not provided proper food, water or shelter. One dog and three farm animals were found dead on the property.
