Thanks to the community support of its many fund raisers, the WGH Auxiliary this year was able to award 6 student scholarships. Students receiving scholarships and their major areas of study are: Ashley Church of Russell, studying dentistry at Case Western Reserve; Rachel Faul of Sheffield, studying dental hygiene at Fortis Institute; Susan Flasher of Warren, studying practical nursing at Venango Technology Center; Sarah Kingston of Warren, studying nursing at Duquesne University; Jamie Mangini of Warren, studying physical therapy at the University of Pittsburgh; and Chelsey Straight of Warren, studying medicine at Penn State Hershey College of Medicine.
Every year, the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary awards several scholarships to area students enrolled in a health care field of study. The applicants must submit letters of interest, grade transcripts for the previous year of study, financial aid forms, recommendations from three unrelated persons and schedule an interview with the scholarship committee. Qualified candidates each receive a $1000 scholarship.
