A Warren man has been arrested for sexual assault on an infant.
According to City of Warren Police, Francis J. Notoro, 25, of 225 Pennsylvania Ave. W., Apt. 302, was arrested and charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child - a felony of the first degree and indecent assault, simple assault, and endangering welfare of children - all misdemeanors of the first degree.
Notoro is accused of abusing a two-month-old child.
"The child had appeared at Warren General Hospital with bruising," Investigator Tony Chimenti said on Friday.
Emergency room staff suspect abuse and contacted city police.
"On July 15, at 23:54 hours (11:54 p.m.) officers were dispatched to Warren General Hospital," Chimenti said.
He said the child's injuries were consistent with abuse and "it was determined through investigation that the suspect was the only person in care of the child when the injuries possibly occurred."
"As a result of the investigation, he was taken into custody yesterday," Chimenti said.
Notoro was arraigned before District Justice Glenn Carlson and taken to Warren County Jail after failing to post $30,000 bail.
According to Chimenti, police are continuing to investigate.
