Dr. Donald E. "Doc" Siffin, 86, of Lower Paxton Township, (formerly of Clarendon/Warren and Millerstown, Pa.), died on Monday, July 16, 2012, at his home after a lengthy illness.
Don graduated from Warren Area High School in 1943. He then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he was stationed in Italy, and served on the crew of an Air Corps plane.
After the war, Don completed his undergraduate studies at Slippery Rock College, his pre-med studies at Penn State University, and he graduated from Veterinary School at the University of Pennsylvania class of 1952. Don also served on numerous boards/committees and with service organizations over the years.
Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeannette (Mead) Siffin, three sons and one daughter Kent Siffin of Millerstown, Pa., Rhinda Siffin of Clarendon, Pa., Kurt Siffin & wife, Lorri, of Hummelstown, Pa., and Kirk Siffin of Harrisburg, Pa. Also surviving are three grandchildren Brett McGowan, Karly Siffin, and Taelor Siffin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 in the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, with Rev. John Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.
