After a trip to Nashville, northwestern Pennsylvania is welcoming back a home-grown rising star for a string of summer shows including an appearance at the Warren County Fair.
Country singer/songwriter Courtney Stewart is fresh off a trip to Nashville for the 2012 Country Music Association (CMA) Music Festival and has a single on its way up the charts, but the Knox-born artist will be spending some time performing close to home. This summer, Stewart will be performing at county fairs in Jefferson, Clarion and Warren counties, all venues within a few hours drive of her hometown.
It's been a big year for Stewart. This past October, Lamon Records recorded Stewart's debut album. Since then, the album has spawned two videos "Telling You", released prior to the album in September, and "For All the World to See", released on May 1. As of July 6, "For All the World to See" had reached number 31 on the Country Main Chart and number 18 on the Country Top 30 Indie Chart.

Coming soon
Courtney Stewart, shown performing at fundraising event “Camo Cares” in June 2011, will be opening for country music headliner Justin Moore on Aug. 7 at the Warren County Fair.
In June, Stewart travelled to Nashville with her label for the CMA festival and had the opportunity to meet country star Justin Moore. Moore was Billboard's "Top New Country Artist of 2009". Stewart and Moore will reunite on Aug. 7 when she opens for him at the Warren County Fair.
Stewart is also in the running for "Independent Artist of the Year" at www.southernstar.org following her nomination in May. Voting for the honor begins in August.
Although she's only 16 years old, Stewart's musical journey spans over half of her life. At age eight, Stewart began performing in her church choir and she began learning to play guitar at age 12, when her grandfather received a guitar.
Stewart soon began writing her own songs.
According to Lamon Records website, producer Dave Moody said, "Courtney has a realness about her music that rings true to the listener. She's writing songs about her everyday experiences."
A press release announcing Stewart's Warren County performance said of her writing, "Her songs reflect her experiences in her life or that of her family and friends."
"One of the greatest feelings ever is to be able to tell someone you have written a song for them and sit down and play it for them face-to-face," Stewart said in the release. "I absolutely love it when someone out in the crowd is singing along with me."
