Warren Post 135 will enter the Warren County Senior American Legion Baseball League playoffs as the top seed after a 3-0 win over Corry Northwest Savings Bank on Sunday at Old Legion Field in North Warren.
Post 135 won the regular-season title at 11-3-1 with a 3-0 combined shutout of defending league champion Corry. A win and a tie against Blair on Saturday in a doubleheader meant that Post 135 had to beat Corry on Sunday, and Tanner Stanz, Brad Walters and Andrew Bevevino scattered seven hits to do just that.
Hank Morrison's two-out, two-run blast in the bottom of the fifth gave Post 135 all the runs it needed.

Stanz threw two scoreless innings, and Walters two. In the top of the fourth, centerfielder Ryan Gustafson ran down a ball in the left-center field gap for one out, and Walters snagged a line drive up the middle for the second out. Walters induced a groundout on the very next pitch to keep it scoreless. Bevevino threw three shutout frames to end the game.
Curtis Burkhart tried to stretch a double to start the seventh, and a relay from Gustafson to Walters to Morrison got him at third.
Todd Fasenmyer singled and scored on Morrison's two-run blast. Gustafson opened the bottom of the sixth with a single and went to third on a single by Stanz. Gustafson stole home when Corry made a play on Stanz on a steal attempt at second.
Fasenmyer went 2-for-2 with a walk for Post 135, which will play on Wednesday against the winner of Blair and Tidioute. Blair will host Tidioute in a one-game playoff between the Nos. 4 and 5 seeds at 6 p.m. Monday at Old Legion Field.
No. 2 Corry (11-4) and No. 3 Youngsville will also play on Wednesday. Corry set up Sunday's match-up with a 10-run win over Youngsville at Friday at The Ballpark At Columbus.
