Shirley LeRoy "Scye" Hamilton, 88, formerly of Route 957, Columbus, Pa., died at his home in Sugar Grove, Pa. surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
He was born in Corry, Pa., on November 8, 1923, a son of the late Roy E. and Ruth E. Holden Hamilton.
Scye was raised and edu-cated in the Corry and Columbus areas. As a young man, he worked at General Electric in Erie for several years. He than be-gan working for the Penn-sylvania Department of Transportation in Warren County. Scye was em-ployed there for over 24 years, retiring on October 25, 1985. He had also helped on his father's dairy farm in Sugar Grove for many years.

He was a faithful par-ishioner of New Creation Assembly of God Church and the Zion Tabernacle Church, both in Jamestown, NY. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Scye was preceded in death in January 1995 by his wife Etta I. Kelsey Hamilton, whom he married on November 10, 1951 in Corry, Pa., and a grandson Donald K. Vik, Jr. in Oc-tober, 1998.
Scye is survived by a daughter Suzanne M. Vik and her husband Donald of Sugar Grove, a grandson Richard C. Vik and his wife Kristin of Nashville, TN., three great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at noon. Rev. William Blair of the New Creation Assem-bly of God, Jamestown, NY., and Rev. Robert Reeves of the Zion Taber-nacle, Jamestown, NY., will officiate.
Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Pa.
