Harold E. Peterson, 89, of Abraham Hollow Rd., Youngsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 1, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born January 30, 1923 in Warren, a son to the late Archie and Dorothy (Mourer) Peterson. He served with the 633rd Com-pany, also known as Patten's Trouble Shooters, in the US Army during WW II. He retired from the form-er Carborundom plant in Falconer NY, where he worked as a welder. Harold was a member of the Otter-bein United Methodist Church in Pittsfield where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Stillwater Lodge 547 F&AM in Youngsville, the Warren Co. Shrine Club, where he served as past president , the Coudersport Consistory, the Legions of Honor, The Youngsville American Legion Post 658, and was a founding member of the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard. Harold enjoyed woodworking, dancing and spending time with his fam-ily.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Freeda (Wiles) Peterson, who died April 1, 2008, a sister Esther Rich, and a brother Elwood Peterson.

He is survived by a son, Darrel Peterson of Youngs-ville, 2 daughters, Kaye (Russell) Bosko of Eustis, Fla., Lori (Dennis) Zielinski of Buffalo, NY, 2 grand-daughters, Jennifer Tuley and Melanie Cole, a great- granddaughter, Hannah Cole, a brother Doug Peter-son and a sister Shirley (George) Probst, both of Youngsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 3, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville, at which time a funeral ser-vice will be held there, with the Rev. Bill Beatty, pastor of the Otterbein UM Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Warren Co. Memorial Park. Members of the Stillwater Masonic Lodge will conduct their ri-tual at 11:45 a.m. Members of the Legion Honor Guard will provide full military honors at the funeral home.
