The teams of Rick Nasman and Dave Bortz and Ryan Stanton and Denny Munksgard shared second with 56.5 points and the team of Troy Stewart and Craig Allen was third with 55.5 points. Dave Wees and John Albaugh recorded the round's low net score of 31.

The Kinzua U10 co-ed soccer team recently traveled to Edinboro University to compete in the Pennsylvania West Soccer Tournament — a two-day event featuring the best teams in Western Pennsylvania — finishing undefeated. In tournament play, Kinzua topped Chartiers Valley, 7-2, Upper Saint Clair, 6-4, Mercer, 13-2 and West Mifflin, 4-1. The Pine Grove Sportsmen's Association will hold a Save A Pair for Breast Cancer Awareness trap shoot on Sunday, July 22, on Egypt Hollow Rd. in Russell. The event will feature 50 singles targets and is open to all. The $30 entry fee includes targets, drawing ticket, t-short, meal tickets and drinks. A free ladies only 22 rifle event will also be held. The event begins at 9 a.m. and benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Celoron topped Busti, 390-389, and Randolph rolled past Carroll, 335-331 in Chautauqua County Trap League competition on Thursday. Tiffany Decker, Kirk Decker and Dick Starks all had perfect scores of 50 to start the second half of league competition as did Celoron's Brian Whalen. Celoron's Stephanie Tutmaher had her first 25 straight.
Tiffany Decker was the high lady with her 50, Dylan Hartman was high junior with a 48 and Dalton Becker was high sub-junior with a 47. Clyde Knapp was high vet with a 48, Starks was high senior vet with his 50 and Al Staerr and Gary Sickles shared high super senior vet marks with scores of 47.

Mangione Beverage rode a hot start to a 14-6 victory over Accent Staffing on Thursday. Brad Johnson's three-run homer highlighted a four-run first for Mangione. Accent Staffing scored six total runs between the fourth and fifth innings to get things close, but the Beermen rallied for six runs in the fifth and sixth inning to put things away.
Ed Baldensperger used the help of two double plays to hold Accent Staffing in check. Jon Edling was 2-for-3 with a double in defeat.

Jack Shattuck recorded his first career hole-in-one Friday at Conewango Valley Country Club. Shattuck's ace came on the 132-yard, par-3 fifth hole and the shot was made using an 8-iron.
