Phyllis Oknefski Bjorkquist will celebrate her 80th birthday on Wednesday, July 18. She was born and raised in Ridgway where she married John Bjorkquist in 1953. They raised their children: Gary Bjorkquist, Doreen Bjorkquist Seymour and Benjamin Bjorkquist before moving to Warren then had another child, Karen Bjorkquist Wilcox. Phyllis has three great-grandchildren and eight grandchildren; two have died.
She has devoted her life to her family and to customer service at Warren Shurfine where she worked for more than 30 years.
