‘Pops by the Fountain’

June 30, 2012
The Times Observer

Dear Editor:

Our Warren Civic Orchestra has blossomed into a philharmonic, now the Warren Philharmonic, and in their tradition of giving to our community, on the evening of June 21st, they gave us a beautiful outdoor concert, "Pops by the Fountain." Bravo to the Warren Philharmonic musicians and special thanks to their wonderfully warm and personal conductor, Bryan Eckenrode, for giving us such a special evening of music and entertainment.

Packing up and taking a philharmonic on location is no easy task. Performing on a very hot evening with the sun in their eyes and gusts of wind playing havoc with their music sheets made it all the more challenging, but not one complaint, only pure professionalism and lots of smiles.

Bryan Eckenrode is well known for bringing something special to every performance. It wasn't enough to just have the Philharmonic perform. Bryan found a way to mix in the talented students from the Warren County Summer Music Program of which he was a part of this year, with the Philharmonic and students performing together. And did I mention the lovely voice of Cristen Gregory?

With well over 300 people attending, by the end of the evening we were already making plans for next year.

On behalf of Main Street, thank you Bryan Eckenrode, the Warren Philharmonic, Cristen Gregory, the Warren County Summer Music Program, and the City of Warren.

Dan Ristau
