The American Red Cross has announced that Pamela Masi is the new executive director for the organization's Warren Chapter, effective July 1.
In her new role, Masi will serve as executive director of the Warren Chapter in addition to serving as the executive director of the Allegheny Region, Corry and Greater Erie chapters. Under Masi's management, the four chapters will work closely with other chapters throughout the 25-county Western Pennsylvania Region to share resources, improving local disaster response capacity while reducing overhead costs and making more efficient use of donated dollars.
Masi has been with the Red Cross for five years, serving as an executive director with the American Red Cross Greater Erie Chapter. She has more than 25 years of fundraising experience.
In her new position, Masi replaces Rex Rossey, who had previously held the position of executive director with the Warren Chapter. Rossey will remain with the organization as the new regional volunteer manager.
The move comes as a result of a recent internal transition to a new division within the Red Cross as well as a nationwide reorganization that seeks to improve efficiency in the organization's service delivery and make the best use of donor dollars. The restructuring and efficient efforts taking place across the country will save an estimated $80 million across the Red Cross.
The Western Pennsylvania Region of the Red Cross was formed last December with the merger of the Southwestern Pennsylvania and Northwestern Pennsylvania regions of the Red Cross. The Western Pennsylvania Region comprises 25 counties.
