BERNIECE STRAIGHT

Berniece Maxine Ake-ley Straight, 90, of North South Street, Warren, PA, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.

Berniece was born February 15, 1922, in Russell, PA., the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Kingsley Akeley. Berniece was a graduate of Russell High School. She was em-ployed as an occupational therapist in the sewing and mending room for 37 years at the Warren State Hospi-tal. She loved to travel, en-joyed knitting, crocheting, and creating beautiful doilies, loved collecting clowns and glass slippers. Berniece especially en-joyed her family, her grandchildren and her great- niece's dog Bella.

She is survived by two sons, Donald E. Straight, Sr. and his wife Shirley, Sugar Grove and David W. Straight and his wife Mary, North Warren; two daughters, Patricia Uber and her husband Martin, Sugar Grove and Helen Wennberg, Warren; twelve grandchildren, Dodi, Misty, DJ, Ray, Bradley, Kenneth, Todd, Bobbi Jo, David, Michael, Shana and Pa-trick; twenty-six great- grandchildren, two great-great grandsons; a nephew, Robert Stormer, Jr. and a niece, Nancy Smith.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Ken-neth E. "Red" Straight, whom she married on May 20, 1941 and who passed away on February 18, 1976; an infant daughter, Beverly Ann Straight and a sister, Frances Stormer. She peacefully joins her Lord, and those who have gone before her.

Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Fun-eral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn-sylvania Ave. E., Warren, PA 16365 on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 27 for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor, Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, officiat-ing.

Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Chil-dren, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
