The team of Dick Cole, Onda Cole, Jim Spangler and Susie Spangler won a Weekly Couples Tournament Friday at Conewango Valley Country Club with a score of 63. The team of Myron Turfitt, Kirsten Turfitt, Maurice Bennett and Sonia Probst was second with a 64 and the teams of Jack Shattuck, Nancy Shattuck, Ron Leofsky and Deb Leofsky and Jim Phillips, Pat Phillips, Bart Jensen and Tammy Jensen shared third with scores of 65.

Hole-in-one

Maurice Bennett recorded his first ever hole-in-one Friday at Conewango Valley Country Club. Bennett's ace came on the par-3, 132-yard fifth hole using a pitching wedge. The ace was witnessed by Sonia Probst, Myron Turfitt and Kirsten Turfitt.

Special Olympics

29 local Special Olympics athletes attended the 43rd Annual Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games held June 7-9 at Penn State University. The event brings together over 2,000 athletes and 750 coaches from across the state. The competitions that featured county athletes included aquatics, athletics, basketball and tennis.
