Helping hands
Members of the Warren Dragons varsity softball team were guest coaches of the Dairy Delight Girls Training Little League softball team at a game earlier this month. Chris Maggio, Bill Lawson, Mario Muscarella, Jay Grann, Asa Johnson and Ryan Fralick all banged out two hits for Ryan Fralick Chiropractic in a 17-8 Richard T. Betts Rec Modified Softball League victory last Wednesday over The Bucket. Both of Maggio's hits were homers and Muscarella also went deep for the winners.

Drew Wilcox, Adam Neubauer and Steve Vincent had three hits each in defeat for The Bucket.

Valley softball

Melissa Clark was a single shy of the cycle and Rachel Tellinghuisen was a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish in Crescent Beer's 15-7 Valley Girls Slow Pitch Softball League victory over Mike's Townline Monday at Betts Park. Clark started the game with a double and triple and later added a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth as Crescent Beer improved to 3-1 on the season. Mike's Townline dropped to 1-1 with the loss.

In other action, Julie Chase, Kathleen McQuillan, Jen Jones and Kristi Bennett all finished 3-for-4 for CTI in a 17-6 victory over Double D's. Jones' hits included a triple and a homer and McQuillan and Sarah Phillips added doubles for the winners.

CTI made it two wins in one night with a 15-5 victory over AC/CJ's. Chase, McQuillan, Kristy Kuzminski, Stephanie Arthur and Jones all homered in the powerful victory. Chelsea Zaffino was 3-for-4 in defeat for AC/CJ's.

Over 30 softball

Travis Smith homered, helping Buckhorn to a 17-10 victory over Bullpen in the Over 30 Modified Softball League Tuesday, June 5, at Betts Park. The win put Buckhorn at 4-1 on the season, heading into Tuesday evening's regularly scheduled play.

The teams of Greg Senyo and Dave Bortz and Joe Bender and Ron Lemon shared the top spot in the Cable Hollow Monday Scratch League at Cable Hollow Golf Club with scores of 40.5 points. The team of Rick Rohlin and Scott Pearson was second with 29 points and the team of Dan Knowlton and Gary Bailey was third with 25 points. Senyo and Bortz had the round's low gross score of 33.
