Other schools

Former Warren Area High School track and field standout Summer Walter will compete this weekend at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals track and field meet at AT&T University in Greensboro, N.C.

After just one season - her junior season - at Bayside High School in Virginia, the former Warren resident was named all-state in Virginia in the pole vault after only competing in the event for three months. Walter broke the school record with a jump of 10 feet, six inches, and she had her photograph placed at the school in her first year.

Walter qualified for the national meet (nationalscholastic.org/nbon) - with Virginia best high school track and field athletes competing against many of the nation's best - by times in the 100-meter hurdles, qualifying in 15.02 seconds, and 400 hurdles. Her 44.24 time during the season in the 300 hurdles qualified her in the 400 hurdles.

Walter was a District 10 champion as a sophomore in both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles for Warren Area High School. She holds the Warren school records in both events.

Ryan Gustafson scored the first run for Post 135 after reaching on an error and coming home to score on a Derek Reagle single. Gustafson started another rally in the fourth with a double and later scored on a base hit from Jimmy Vile. Reagle scored Post's final run in the seventh inning after leading off with a walk, stealing second and third, and scoring on Collin DeLattre's single.

Casey Benson struck out the side in the seventh to get the save.
