You couldn't have asked for a better way to end the 2012 Boys Majors regular season.
In a battle of unbeatens, Betts and TruckLite squared off Wednesday at Betts-Jackson in what amounted to a league championship game. After allowing three runs to TruckLite in the top of the seventh inning, Betts stormed back to score four runs in the bottom of the seventh, winning 5-4 in extra innings.
Colby Johnson started on the hill for Betts and gave up just one run on one hit while striking out 11. His counterpart - Jake Harvey of TruckLite - was equally impressive, also giving up one run on one hit while striking out 11.

TruckLite appeared to be in control of things after scoring three runs in the top of the seventh, but Betts would not give in. James Sturdevant started the seventh with a single and the two walks and hit batsman that followed cut the TruckLite lead to 4-2 with two outs.
A clutch single by Nate Betts followed that and made it 4-3, and a Truck Lite free pass with the bases loaded tied the game. That brought Johnson to the plate and he ended the game with a walkoff single to score Tevon Campbell and give Betts the dramatic victory.
In other action, Gracie Wood was 2-for-2 with two doubles, and Seneca Bennett added two hits, in State Farm's Girls Minors win on Wednesday under the lights at Betts-Jackson. Julia Lobdell struck out six in two scoreless innings to preserve the win for Celia Chase.
Andrea Sveda blasted a double and a triple for EmergyCare/Results Rehab, and Jordan Sitler and Riley Downey had big hits. Sitler completed a double play from the pitcher's mound, and Alexis Nyquist's play at shortstop helped EmeryCare escape with two scoreless innings to end its season.
