Means Sales & Service and Wilcox Hardware combined for 44 runs in a wet Boys Majors showdown on Tuesday. When the wild game ended, it was Means on the winning end of a 30-14 decision. Sam Hoover had five hits, including two doubles for the winners. Jaydon Hayes doubled twice in defeat for Wilcox Hardware.
Jake Russ had a double and a triple and PGE exploded for 11 runs in the fourth inning of a 15-8 Boys Majors victory over Cornerstone on Monday. Bryce Cummings doubled in defeat for Cornerstone.
Will Strassburg turned a pop fly into a double play in a well-played Boys Training game on Tuesday between Whirley Drink Works and KCS Energy.
The weather cleared up later in the evening, just in time for Ben Berdine, Mitchell Grosch, Anthony Reynolds and Micah Passmore to combine for 12 strikeouts in a Boys Minors win for Exchange Club.
The game was played under the lights at Betts-Jackson Field, but nobody announced the kids' names on the PA system. That's okay, because the "Clubbers" announced themselves with authority with a five-run top of the first inning. Grosch had a two-run double in the frame, and Reynolds added a two-run double in the second. Passmore just missed a rare Boys Minors home run, with an RBI triple and had two hits. Grosch finished 3-for-3.
