Rec softball

Fralick Chiropractic swept a pair of Richard T. Betts Rec Modified Softball League games Wednesday at Betts Park. The team defeated Nic-L-Inn, 9-2, and Crescent Beer, 23-9. In the win over Nic-L-Inn, Kyle Grey and Bill Lawson each finished with three hits for the winners. Mario Muscarella homered and Lawson, Ben Lindquist, Asa Johnson, Grey and Ryan Fralick all doubled. Ricky Carlson and Tim Sheesley were 2-for-3 for Nic-L-Inn.

Against Crescent Beer, Chris Maggio, Muscarella, John Melquist, Johnson and Jim Cama all belted out three hits each. Melquist homered twice and Shane Swan and Muscarella also homered. Nick Bryan homered in defeat for Crescent Beer.

Golf results

Alan Ludwick and Bob Buerkle shared low gross of 36, and Buerkle, Ludwick, Ken Williams and Ron Owens all shared low net of 30, in Senior Men's Golf League play Friday at Cable Hollow Golf Club. Gary Wallin was the high point-taker with nine and one-half and Williams and Buerkle shared the most pars with seven. Ludwick had one eagle, Mark Thompson had two birdies and Chuck Roberts, Steve Brown, Buerkle, Dave Guiffre and Tony Conti all had one birdie each.
