Grand Valley event
The next meeting of the Grand Valley 2012 Homecoming Committee will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Grand Valley Fire Hall on Route 27. Anyone willing to participate in completing plans for the Ninth Annual Homecoming event (to be held Saturday, July 28), is invited.. For more information, call 436-7410 or 436-7381. AOC on the move
On Thursday, June 14, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will ride bikes on the North Warren Bike Trail. Participants will meet at the Russell Post Office at 5:30 p.m., ride to the bike trail and continue to the southern terminus then, after a stop at the Dairy Queen, return to Russell. On June 17-19, the AOC will kayak and camp on the Allegheny Reservoir. Participants will meet at the home of Ron and Sharon Johnson at 6632 Scandia Rd., Russell, at 1:30 p.m. From there they will drive to Webbs Ferry Boat Launch to put-in, then kayak to Hooks Brook Campground. Campers should bring a dish to share and beverages for two suppers; hot dogs and buns will be provided. Campers should also bring their breakfasts and lunches and camping gear for primitive camping. Rummage sale set
St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church will have its annual rummage sale June 14-16, at the center, Pennsylvania Ave. W. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

An 80th birthday open house for Bob Lundmark will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Wiltsie Community Church. Coordinators request no gifts.
