Joy L. "Dot" Shaw, 78, of Russell, PA formerly of Clearfield, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Debbie Haskins following a year of a brave and inspir-ing battle with cancer and renal failure.
Born on June 25, 1933 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Rex Peters and Maude (Young) Hoover.
Mrs. Shaw was a homemaker and worked as an aide at Research Hospi-tal in Kansas City, MO.

She was a member of the Salem United Methodist church.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by her three children: Cletus Shaw and his wife Karen of Sawyer, MN. Deb-bie Haskins and her hus-band Bill of Russell, PA and Howard Shaw and his wife Gail of Winchester, VA; fourteen grandchil-dren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She is also survived by a brother Jack Peters and his wife Mae of West Decatur, an uncle Fay Young and his wife Max of Duncansville, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Mike Hoover, her husband Cletus John Shaw whom she married on April 12, 1951 and who passed away on August 23, 2004, a son, Martin L. Shaw who passed away March 12, 2010 and three brothers: Bernard "Buck", James and twin brother, Loy "Pokey" Peters.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor William Pen-nington officiating. Inter-ment will be in the Brad-ford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home, on Thursday, June 14th 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the ser-vices.
