ANF use fees waived for Get Outdoors Day

June 9, 2012
The Times Observer

It's time to Get Outdoors.

The fifth annual National Get Outdoors Day will be celebrated across the country on Saturday.

The day is intended to "attract new, diverse communities to outdoor activities and motivate kids to explore their national forests and other public lands," according to a release from the Allegheny National Forest.

"National Get Outdoors Day provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to explore and enjoy their national forests and grasslands," said Allegheny National Forest Supervisor Erin Connelly. "This is an open invitation for some healthy fun. Once you've experienced the forest, we think you'll keep coming back."

All day-use fees at ANF recreation sites will be waived on Saturday.

Information about National Get Outdoors Day and the Allegheny National Forest is available by calling the ANF office at 723-5150, the Bradford Ranger District at 814-363-6000, or the Marienville Ranger District at 814-927-5700.
