Square dance set
The Circle 8 Square Dance Club of Warren will hold a western-style square dance at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 9, in the Warren State Hospital Gym with Mike Sumpter as caller. Dress will be formal square dance attire. Observers are welcome. For information, call 723-1052.
Movie Monday
Monday Night Movies at the Warren Public Library will continue June 11. This event will be free of charge and will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Slater Room on the third floor of the library. Thanks to donations, complimentary popcorn will be available. This week's PG-13 rated, 132-minute film stars Willem Dafoe, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds. John Carter, a Civil War officer from Virginia is transported to Mars and finds himself a captive of the savage green men from Thark. Eventually, he rises to become the greatest warrior of all time, marries the beautiful Dejah Thoris, raises a family and embarks on numerous adventures. VBS for children
Lottsville and Sugar Grove United Methodist churches invite all area children to this summer's Vacation Bible School, "Babylon: Daniel's Courage in Captivity." The event will be hosted at Lottsville United Methodist Church June 24-29 from 6 to 8 p.m. each day. Participants will step back in time to the ancient city of Babylon, exploring Daniel's adventures as a captive in a foreign land. Kids and adults participate in a memorable Bible-times marketplace with catchy songs, games, Bible-times snacks, and visits to Daniel. They also will learn to look for evidence of God all around them. Each day will concludes at celebration, a time of upbeat worship that gets everyone involved.
