Lions Club car show Sunday at Betts

It's time once again for the Warren Lions Club Annual Car Show - now in its 11th year - to be held Sunday, June 10, at Betts Field, west of Warren. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for viewing, but registration will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, and the first 100 cars will receive dash plaques. Pre-registration fee is $7. Day of registration fee will be $10.

All entries will be judged, and three trophies will be awarded per class, for a total of 24 awards. Classes will include production cars through 1963, production cars from 1964 to 1988, muscle cars with modification, all sports cars through 1988, production trucks through 1988, rods and customs through 1948, rods and customs from 1949 to 1988, and motorcycles. A best of show award will be presented as well as an award for longest distance traveled to the show. Vehicles from 1989 and newer can be shown but will not be judged.

For the spectators, there will be door prizes. The Lions' "world famous sausage sandwiches," hot dogs and cold drinks will be available at the Lions Club "Weenie Wagon," coordinator Jim Eldridge said, and baked goods will be provided by the Warren Lioness Club. Music by a disc jockey will be provided throughout the event.

The group is hoping for good weather. Everyone is invited.

Parking and registration will be handled by the Kinzua Valley Car Club. Bring your old eyeglasses for recycling by the Lions Club. The event will be held rain or shine.
