Viva Las Vegas

Auxiliary gala June 16

June 7, 2012
The Times Observer

The 54th annual Warren General Hospital Auxiliary's summer gala will once again take place at the lovely Betts Park down by the riverside. On Saturday, June 16, from 7 p.m. until midnight, the auxiliary will host "Viva Las Vegas," a flashy Las Vegas experience. Held under the big tent, with the gentle breezes from the Allegheny, the dance floor will rock to the sounds of not one, but two great local local bands, "Happy Days" and "The 4 Jays" providing continuous music and dancing enjoyment. The party goers can expect to see "Elvis" and the "Blues Brothers" make appearances too.

The "Las Vegas" benefit dinner/dance will include an extensive dinner buffet with an appetizer table of fresh fruits, vegetables, crackers and cheeses, a variety of meat, chicken and seafood entrees, enticing cooked vegetable dishes and the desserts that have become a standard at the summer gala. The favorite coffee bar with specialty coffees and teas, and a cash liquor and soda bar will be available also. No BYOB or coolers are permitted, but do bring your cameras to take pictures of the decorations and the Vegas celebrities who are expected. There will be games, raffles and door prizes awarded throughout the evening also. Dress is Las Vegas casual.

The gala is one of the largest yearly events sponsored by the auxiliary. Chairmen Janet Thompson and Robbin Price, and decorations chairman Debra Gray, have been working for nearly a year to bring together this event. This year's proceeds will go to the Cancer Care Center's renovation project We are proud to have one of the best Cancer Care Centers available. Help support this great asset to our area and enjoy the fine music and dancing.
