Golf scramble
The 3rd Annual Cherry Grove Volunteer Fire Department Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, August 11, at Cable Hollow Golf Club. The event will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start and there is a $60 entry fee per golfer to cover green fees, a cart, door prizes, on course prizes and food at the turn with dinner following.

Barnyard Classic
The hoops for the annual Barnyard Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament have been put in place and players are welcome to practice on the courts at Eisenhower High School.
Registration for the June 30 event can be completed at www.barnyardclassic.com.
Golf results
Pete Hofert had low gross of 38 and Dale Martin had low net of 30 in Youngsville Senior Golf League play Tuesday at Maplehurst Country Club. Ron Brown had the round's second low gross of 39. Brown, Hofert, Ron Lindstrom, Dave Lang, Tom Radecki and Bob Yucha all had birdies during play.
Valley softball
Kristy Kuzminski was 10-for-10 over two lopsided wins for CTI Physical Therapy on Monday in the Valley Girls Slow Pitch Softball League at Betts Park.
Kuzminski, Stephanie Arthur and Patty Finch had five hits each in a 24-0 win over The Rouse Estates, and Kuzminski had five hits and Julie Chase and Deanna Beyer four each in a 27-4 victory over Results Rehab to start 2-0. CTI scored 12 runs in the first inning of each game.
