Horseshoes

The Warren County Horseshoe League will be hosting the Kinzua Classic Tournament on Saturday, June 2, with play to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Warren County Fairgrounds. The line-up is as follows:

Third in Forms
Shelli Gray, a member of the Fighting Tigers Karate Team, competed in her first tournament on Sunday, May 20, at the Champion of the Sword Karate Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Master Mikki Bortz and was attended by competitors from the tri-state area. Shelli was third in forms and third in fighting in her women’s division.

All-star tryouts

Girls Majors Little League softball all-star team tryouts will be held this Friday at Hawbaker Field at the Farm Colony. Registration is at 5:30 p.m. with tryouts starting promptly at 6 p.m. Girls should bring their gloves, bats and helmets.

Girls Minors Little League softball all-star team tryouts will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Farm Colony. Players are asked to be early to register and bring gloves, bats and helmets.

Track clinic

The 3rd Annual Sheffield Track and Field Summer Clinic, for grades K-8, will be held from Tuesday to Friday, June 26 to 29, at Sheffield High School. The clinic will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, and Friday's track meet will begin at 5 p.m. All children attending should be wearing sneakers and sport-appropriate clothing. In the event of bad weather, the clinic will be moved into the high school gymnasium. There is a $10 donation to sign up, with any funds raised being given back to the Sheffield High School Track and Field program to purchase equipment and uniforms and for facility improvements.
