Denny Arthur and Larry Crossley singled in the seventh to set up Jerry Nelson's go-ahead single for Kwik Fill in a 6-5 Over 30 Modified Softball League win over Club Buck on Tuesday at Betts Park.
Mangione Beverage blasted five runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings in a 12-1 win over Meriden Hardwood. Scott Chase had a double and a grand slam for Mangione (2-1). Ed Baldensperger added three hits and was winning pitcher, and Vinnie Massa had two hits in the 14-hit attack.
Mike Massa was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, and Eric Rosequist, Don Cummings, Brian Haines and Nick Fiorella had two hits each in a 13-3 win for Crescent Beer over Midtown Motors. Rick Eaton had two nice stabs at the mound defensively and scattered four hits in the win, and Todd Mineweaser had an over-the-shoulder catch for a double play at second base for Crescent Beer.
Cory Darr had a home run and a double in leading Buckhorn to a 14-5 victory over Blue Ribbon.
Former Pittsburgh Steeler, as well as Houston Astros farmhand in professional baseball, R.J. Bowers homered for Bullpen in a 13-3 win over Freddie's. Gary Freeborough had two doubles and five other Bullpen teammates had two hits each in the win.
