Dear editor:
A recent article in the Times Observer indicated that the Warren County teachers union has agreed to pay concessions for the upcoming school year.
We just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to the teachers for putting our child's future and career above your own.
Teaching is an incredibly challenging career and one that unfortunately comes with little appreciation for the work involved. If every parent would take just ONE day and sit in on a classroom or volunteer, you would see how much effort and time your child's teacher takes to give your child the best education they can.
You would see the sacrifice that they make in terms of time and their own money to make learning fun for your child and preparing them for the future. Having come from other school districts, both in Pennsylvania and Ontario, we have seen the differences in the way teachers are compensated and although Warren teachers earn only a fraction of what these teachers earn, we believe that our child's education is second to none.
We have been blessed with teachers who have gone above and beyond our expectations and are as concerned with our child's future as we are. Thank you for your work, sacrifice and dedication and thank you, in advance for future concessions that you will undoubtedly be asked to make.
Sincerely,
John & Christy
