Mary E. "Dusty" Rhodes McGuire Stites, 84, a life-long resident of the Tidioute and Warren area, and most recently a resident of the Watson Home, Warren, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Warren General Hospital.
Dusty was born March 26, 1928, in Titusville, Pa., the daughter of the late Neil and Mabel Gustafson Rhodes. As a child, she at-tended the Swedish Union Church, which her ances-tors proudly built. Dusty was an excellent house-keeper, a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She will be long remembered for her wonderful cooking. She also enjoyed embroidery, spending time with her family, and always felt a special joy in her heart when she was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Richard McGuire and his wife, Jeanette, Pinehurst, TX, Susan Pillar and her husband Joe, Titus-ville, Pa., Judy Morrison and her husband, John, Warren, Pa., and Donald McGuire and his wife, Leah, Tidioute, Pa.; a sister, Loretta Goodard, Warren, Pa.; six step-children, Matt, Tom, Lenny, Larry, Kathy and Sue Ellen; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed-ward Stites; and two sisters, Mabel Martin and Lois Smith.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Fun-eral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Thurs-day, May 31, from, 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Swedish Un-ion Church, Tidioute, Pa., on Friday, June 1 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dale Timco, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Swedish Union Cemetery.
