Little League

Peterson-Blick Funeral Home scored six runs over the final two innings to beat PGE in a Boys Majors game on Friday under the lights at Betts-Jackson Field.

Adam Irwin was 3-for-4 for Peterson-Blick in a game that saw Mayflies everywhere. Derek Knapp had a Jeteresque double play through those Mayflies in the second inning for PGE, keeping the game close.

Alex Borger put on a Memorial Day fireworks display on Sunday night at Betts-Jackson in a Boys Minors game. Batting second, Borger came to the plate in the top of the first and drove the first pitch to the fence for a two-run homer. He followed it with a three-run shot in the third inning. His offensive outburst was plenty for Peterson-Blick pitchers Andrew Beyer, Jeremiah Hanks and Dylan Maeder, who combined on a no-hit shutout.
