The Sheffield Wolverines dropped their last game of the softball season, 10-0, on Friday to visiting Johnsonburg.
"They played well today, we just struggled at the plate," said Sheffield coach Tracey Vile, whose Lady Wolverines ended 2-15 overall.
Despite the lopsided score, Vile said that the team did well.

"Defensively, our pitcher pitched well, and she made some great plays in the field," said Vile.
Maddie Fiscus pitched the entire game for the Wolverines, notching four strikeouts and a pair of hits from the batters' box. Fiscus started the game off strong, earning three of her strikeouts in the first inning.
The defense couldn't maintain their performance, and Johnsonburg broke open the scoreless game in the third inning, scoring five unanswered runs.
Sheffield's defense pulled themselves together in the fourth, putting away three batters with just three pitches. They repeated the three up, three down defense in the fifth inning, but couldn't stop Johnsonburg's bats in the sixth and gave up five more runs.
With the season over, Vile said, "There were highs and lows. The unfortunate part was that we were never constant from game to game."
