Lunch Change

at Rouse Manor

The lunch at the Rouse Manor, scheduled for the 4th Monday in May, will be held Thurs., May 31 due to Memorial Day. The menu this month will include open-face toasted chicken salad sandwiches on a bun, potato chips, fruit/pudding, and bar cookies.

Treats for Troops
During the first two weeks of April, Youngsville High School and Youngsville Elementary/Middle School collected “Treats for Troops”. Items were also collected at the Charity Basketball games between YHS and YEMS teachers and the Warren County Veterans and F.O.P. Lodge #83 on April 13th. Pictured here are Mrs. DeSimone’s Third Grade class at YEMS, from left to right, Mr. Shannon Yeager, Assistant Principal, Richard Bailey, Grace Diley, Lillian Camp, Derek Lucks, and Ethan Kesterholt. This classroom won the contest for gathering the most treats and presented the items to Joby McAualy and Al Harrison of the John Gertsch Memorial Home Association. These items will be included in their May mailing of care packages to the soldiers.

Rummage Sale

ROY is having a rummage sale, in front of the ROY/Allegheny Artistry Store, this Fri., May 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Sat., May 19 from 9 a.m. until sold out. They have lots of nice things that were donated to ROY, such as dishes, plastic tablecloths, material, all kinds of yarn, lace, old records/tapes, doll heads, art and craft items, old magazines, and knick-knacks. Youngsville EUMC

The Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist Church's Women's Ministry Team is holding its annual yard sale in the pavilion behind the church on Second Street. The sale starts Fri., May 18th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and continues on Sat., May 19 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be lots of interesting things for all ages. Come and see what we have for you. The proceeds of this sale help fund missions and retreats hosted by the Women's Ministry Team throughout the year.

Free car wash

The Youngsville Marching Eagles have collected all their sponsors and now they need you to show up and have your car washed for free. Starting at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Two locations are NAPA on Route 6 in Youngsville and AutoZone in North Warren.

Spaghetti dinner

The Youngsville Marching Eagles are having a spaghetti dinner on Sun., May 20th at the Youngsville Fire Hall from 4 - 6:30 p.m. The cost is by donation. There will also be a pie sale, whole, homemade pies for $10/each.

YTV

Youngsville TV is 60 years old this year. The annual meeting will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. with some cake and punch. There will be election of three directors. Nominations from the floor will be taken at that time.

Class of '64

YHS class of '64 luncheon will be held Tuesday, May 22, at the Youngsville American Legion at 12:30 p.m.

Theater Camp

Youngsville's Children's Theater camp Second auditions will be held at the Free Methodist Church Youngsville, on Thurs., May 24th at 3:30.

If you missed the first round of Signup and auditions we welcome you to attend this session. We are going to be working on the Magical Land of Oz as our production this year and could use many young people in the production as well as back stage. For more information please call Barb 814/563-4936

BVSP Event

Pre-registration is being accepted for the 'Worlds Largest Swimming' Lesson to be held on June 14th at the BVSP. Swimmers should be registered by May 25, forms can be picked up and returned to the Youngsville Borough office, and those wanting T-shirts can order them for $10. BVSP is a host facility for the 'Worlds Largest Swimming Lesson' that will take place around the world at the same time and be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. On June 14 registration begins at 9 a.m. with lesson beginning at 11 a.m. exactly. All ages are welcome. Contact Jayda Haight at 814/706-1212.

Sanford Area Sales

The Annual Sanford Area Garage Sales will be held on Fri. and Sat., June 1 and 2, from 9 - 5 in Elder Township near Grand Valley. Maps, food and drink will be at garage sale areas.

Bicentennial Bingo

The Youngsville Bicentennial Committee will be hosting a Bicentennial Bingo at the

Youngsville Fire Hall on Sat., June 30th from 4 - 8 p.m. to benefit the Bicentennial Celebration Weekend June 28-30th in 2013.

Consignment Auction

Garland Community Center at 204 Extension Road, Garland will host a consignment auction on June 10, with doors open at noon and auction at 1 p.m.

Need money? Have something to sell? This will be their last auction of the season, so hoe out that garage, attic, or spare room and put some money in your pocket. If you own it they will attempt to sell it, with the exception of used clothing. Housewares, tools, lawn and garden equipment, atv's, boats, automobiles, furniture, appliances, antiques, collectibles, etc. Consignments are now being accepted, for more info or to make an appointment to consign items call Cheryl 814/563-4374.

Youngsville First

U.M. Preschool

On May 10, the 4-5 year olds class presented its graduation program. The class received Graduation Certificates from Director Christa Monza and Teacher, Autumn Camp. The class that graduated from Youngsville First United Methodist Church Preschool are the following: Owen Auflick, Cassidy Britton, Adam Bull, Mike Carnahan, Autumn Hackman, Cole Johnson, Caleb Morningstar, Riley Robinault, Candice Shirlaw, Katharine Smith, Jay Turner, Taylor Tuttle, and Cole Yurchinson. These children will be attending Kindergarten next year. They congratulate each child and their families for the successful year of preparing the children for their future schooling.

On May 11, the 3-4 year olds class presented its promotion program. The class received Promotion Certificates from Director Christa Monza and Teacher, Autumn Camp, and Teacher's aide, Karen Ecelberger. This class is being promoted to the 4-5 year olds class next year are the following: Katelyn Beatty, Tydus Chase, Macenzie Jenkins, Logan King, Jayce Lang, Nate Leamon, Greyson Linderhof, Jacob McClymonds, Wyatt McCune, Parker Mowery, and Cody Silva. They congratulate each child and their families for supporting and encouraging each child that attended Youngsville First United Methodist Preschool.

Youngsville First United Methodist Preschool provides a Christian-based education to children in the community. There are scholarships available for tuition. They are accepting applications for the Preschool for the 2012-2013 School year, they have 2 openings for additional 4 and 5 year olds students and they are attempting to fill their 2nd 3 and 4 year olds class.
