This group of boys from Warren County finished third out of eight teams in the Meadville Mayhem Classic 12-and-under baseball tournament this past weekend. Warren pulled out a dramatic late-inning victory over the FLAG Falcons (Girard), highlighted by catcher Aidan Morrison’s first home run, a 3-run shot over the fence in left-center, and advanced to the semifinal. The Erie Outlaws won the tournament on Sunday. Warren's junior varsity baseball team won twice in recent days by identical 9-0 scores. In a win over Meadville on Monday, Darin Francisco threw a one-hit shutout over five innings, striking out eight. Austin Schwanke and Eddie Ord contributed two-run doubles.
In an earlier game, Tanner Teconchuk struck out give to get the win, 9-0 over Fort LeBoeuf. Schwanke's three-run double, and Matt Hultquist had two hits in the win.
