Dear editor:
I would like to set the record straight regarding the Warren County Tea Party. For whatever reason the media has been bent to make us out as trouble makers when all the while our goal is for Less Government, Less Taxes, Less Spending, and Less Debt. We have members who volunteer to follow the voting record of our elected officials to see if they are standing up to their campaign promises and if not why. We also have guest speakers who are representing our County at the State and Federal level who not only tell us what is happening in Harrisburg and Washington but they also provide time for questions and concerns before leaving.
For too long you the citizens of the freest county have neglected your privilege to vote. In the most recent Primary only 16% of eligible voters (both Democrat and Republican) went to the polls to vote. What is your excuse for not exercising YOUR right to vote? It is a known fact that other governments have fallen into dictatorship simply because the people were apathetic and didn't voice their opinion at election time.
Our Tea Party attendance should be so large that we would need a large auditorium for our monthly meeting. Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month. Therefore the next meeting is at 7 p.m. on June 7th and will be held at the Warren Career Center. Please consider what your roll will be in the fall election when we face the most important election in our modern history.
