Rosella F. "Rosie" Mar-coni, 83, formerly of Hem-lock Avenue, Kane, died early Saturday evening, May 12, 2012 at The Luth-eran Home at Kane.
Born January 28, 1929 in Kane, she was the daughter of Leonard and Mary Loretta "Laura" Dal-ton Fiscus. On May 27, 1950 in Kane, she married James J. Marconi, who sur-vives.
After graduating from Kane Area High School in 1946, Rosie owned and operated the Mary Rose Beauty Shop in Kane. Later, she worked at Hous-ton Electronics, then for Stackpole, both in Kane, where she was a packer and a union steward.

She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and a greeter, taught Religious Education for eighteen years, was a leader in the Renew Group and a member of the Prayer Chain. Active in her com-munity, she volunteered her time and service for many programs, including the Kane Food Pantry and the McKean County RSVP. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are seven daughters, Lorrie (the late Win) Apel of Winston-Salem, N.C., Shar-lene Marconi, Ellen (Geoff) Perry and Anastasia "Stacy" Lindquist, all of Kane, Bernadine (Kenneth Howell) Marconi of Boise, Idaho, Libby (Thomas) Short of Falconer, N.Y. and Julie (David) Addy of Jeffersonton, Va.; two sons, James (Linda) Marconi, Jr. of Boise and Fr. Theodore Marconi of Erie; two sis-ters, Ruth Truden and Lois Van Dervoort, both of Kane; plus eighteen grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a sister, Rita Fiscus, and two brothers, Gerald and Lloyd Fiscus.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Fun-eral Home, Inc., 103 S. Fra-ley St., Kane on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 on Friday at St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane with Father Theo-dore Marconi, her son, presiding, and Father Philip Pinczewski, pastor, con-celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery, Kane.
