Warren
Arrest. Officers of the Warren County Adult Probation Department arrested Karly S. Sorensen, Warren, on May 11 on charges of violation of parole. Sorenson, who was originally placed on parole on a charge of resisting arrest or other law enforcement, a second degree misdemeanor, was arrested on a supervisor's warrant and committed to the Warren County Jail pending further court action.
Crash. Warren City Police reported that on May 10 at 7:38 a.m. they were informed that an unknown vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle belonging to Ross Bryan III, Warren, on the west side of Hickory Street. The vehicle systained moderate damage to the driver's side mirror and light damage to the driver's side front fender. Police reported that there was no paint transfer but that there was dried mud that appeared to be from a tire belonging to a large truck because the mud was located on the fender above the tire. Crash. Warren City Police reported that on May 10 at 1:04 p.m, they were informed that an unknown vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle belonging to Louis Kornwreich, Warren, on Wren Way near the intersection with Rankin Street. The vehicle sustained moderate damage, stratches and dents along the driver's side of the vehicle and had a visible maroon paint transfer from he vehicle which was located above the rear wheel well and continued to the driver's door. Crash. Warren City Police reported that Melissa Stanton was driving her vehicle north on Liberty Street on Friday morning at 8:40 a.m. Stanton said that she stopped to turn into a private driveway. As she was turning, the passenger side of her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Brian Sager. Stanton stated that she never saw Sager and that she did not know how or why she did not see him. Sager said that he was traveling south on Liberty Street when Stanton made an abrupt left hand turn in front of him. He said that he attempted to stop but was unable to and, just before impact, laid his motorcycle down on the left side and slid into Stanton's vehicle. Stanton's vehicle sustained moderate damage to the lower passenger side doors and was able to be driven away from the scene. Sager's motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Pennmark Towing. Stanton was found to be at fault and was issued a citation for vehicles turning left.
Public drunkenness. Warren City Police reported that Alexander D. Layden, Tiona, was cited today after officers were dispatched to the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Ludlow Street at 12:09 a.m. on May 11 for a report of an intoxicated male attempting to get into a vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign.
Pittsfield Twp.
Burglary. Warren-based State Police reported that suspects broke into a garage on the property of Thomas Nicholson, in the area of Barton Run Road and US 6, Pittsfield, sometime between March 1 and May 10. Police reported that several hand tools, valued at $200, were stolen. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the State Police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Southwest Twp.
Burglary. Warren-based State Police reported that suspects forcibly entered the basement of the residence of Kevin Westcoat, Pittsfield, on May 10 between noon and 7 p.m. Total estimated damage was $75. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the State Police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Clarendon
Crash. Warren-based State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 6 southeast of Exchange Street on May 8 at 11 a.m. Police reported that a 2007 GMC was legally parked facing east on US 6 on the right shoulder. An unknown vehicle struck the GMC on the left rear corner panel and scraped the length of the bed to the cab. The driver of the unknown vehicle continued east without stopping.
Tidioute
Harassment. Warren-based State Police reported that a known 16 year old male juvenile from Grand Valley and a known 15 year old female from Tidioute were involved in an altercation on May 10 at 4:50 p.m. in the area of Main Street in Tidioute. The individuals were found to be hitting each other and pulling each other's hair. Police reported that charges are pending through District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth's office.
