Rouse residents Walk for Babies

May 10, 2012
The Times Observer

On May 8, more than 35 Rouse Home residents proudly presented the March of Dimes with a $379.30 donation. In order to raise money, the residents volunteered to walk to and from one daily meal for a week. Each time they completed a trip, they earned sponsor money from generous Rouse employees. In years past, Rouse Home residents held a "Rock-a-Thon" to raise funds, but this year they felt walking would be more rewarding for everyone involved. One resident, Dorothy Slocum, went above and beyond this year as she collected separate donations from Rouse employees, family members and friends. Slocum, left, was photographed on Tuesday presenting the entire Rouse Home donation to Brenda Zock, March of Dimes Community Director for Warren County.
