VIOLA HARRINGTON

Mrs. Viola M. Harring-ton, 99, formerly of the Bil-lie Brown Building, died at 4:40 AM on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Golden Liv-ing Center in Titusville. She had been a resident there since July of 2006.

Mrs. Harrington was born on December 28, 1912 at Rome Twp., Crawford County, a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Goodwill Vanderhoff. She was married to Gerald D. Harrington on Sept. 1, 1937 at St. Titus Rectory. He pre-ceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1985.

Mrs. Harrington was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1929. She had been employed at Horn Silk Mill for 8 years; also worked as a nurse's aid at the former Presbyterian Home for 7 years as well as an aid at the Titusville Area Hospital for 4 years. She then worked as a ward clerk at the hospital for 8 years until her retirement in 1980.

Mrs. Harrington was a member of St. Titus Church. In 1960 she joined the first class of Gray La-dies of the American Red Cross and volunteered with them for one year.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas G. Harrington and wife Joy of Andover, NJ, and Joseph P. Harring-ton and wife Jolene of Lodi, CA; three daughters, Donna Corklin and hus-band John of Titusville, Pa-tricia Birtciel and husband M.W. of Wilmington, NC, and Mary Ellen Reinhardt and husband Craig of Titusville; a step-daughter, Dorothy Reagan of Titus-ville; 16 grandchildren, Jay Corklin and wife Lauri of Titusville, Jeff Corklin, Jon Corklin both of Erie, Jen-nifer Corklin, Julie Corklin both of Titusville, Todd Harrington of Philadelphia, Tracy Fernandez and hus-band Jeff of Bloomfield, NJ, Darrin Birtciel and wife Heather of Erie, Denise Rollins and partner, Amy Prince of Linden, NC, Nicole Colapietro and hus-band Chris of Breinigsville, Eric Reinhardt of Buffalo, NY, Erin Reinhardt of Ar-lington, VA, Emily Atkins and husband Ben of Erie, Ian Harrington of Chicago, IL, Nate Harrington and wife Danielle of Hermosa Beach, CA, Tyler Harring-ton and wife Cori of Cran-ford, NJ; 7 great grandchil-dren; 13 step-grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Rodgers and husband Frank of Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two step-sons, James E. Harrington and William Marshall Harrington; five brothers, Carlyle, Elwin, Grant, Donald and Mal-colm Vanderhoff; and three sisters, Doris Krechen, Ruth Crawford and Ethel Metzgar.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Vigil service will be con-ducted by Fr. Walter Packard at 1:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri-day at 10:00 AM in St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter Packard as cele-brant.

Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
