VIRGINIA ROBERTS

Virginia L. "Ginny" Roberts, 81, a resident of the Suites at the Rouse, and formerly of 2nd St. in Youngsville, died Sunday May 6, 2012 at the Warren General Hospital.

She was born November 5, 1930 in Warren, a daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Anderson) Carl-son. She graduated from the Lander School and then went on to business school for two more years. Ginny worked in the Warren Co. School District as a secre-tary for 33 years. She was a member of the Irvine Pres-byterian Church, the Youngsville Vol. Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary, and the Brokenstraw Grange, served as treasurer for the Warren Co. Genealogy So-ciety, and a leader for the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts over the years. She enjoyed bird watching, bowling, cro-cheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by 3 children, Kelvin (Delores) Roberts of Platea, Pa., Juan-ita (Jack) Neilson, of Johnsonburg, Pa., Ken (Barb) Roberts of Youngs-ville, a step-son, Bruce Roberts of Arizona, 2 sis-ters, Genevieve (Edie) Silvis of Corry, and Isabelle (Bryce) Hanson of Sugar Grove, 7 grandchildren, Joel Roberts, Rachel Til-burg, Kimberly Neilson, Victoria Neilson, Brian Neilson, Amanda Roberts, Kevin Roberts, 3 great- grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, step-grand children and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dean A. Roberts in 1984, an infant son Wesley Roberts, a step-son David Roberts and a brother Ed-ward Carlson.

Friends may call on Tuesday form 4-7 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Rouse Warren Co. Home and Pastor Tim Olson, pas-tor of the Garland Pres-byterian Church co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Irvine Presbyterian Church Building Repair Fund, Ir-vine, Pa. 16329, or to the Youngsville Vol. Fire Dept, 29 Fireman Dr., Youngs-ville, Pa. 16371. Con-dolences to the family mat be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net.
